Citizen Unveils Two Cutting-Edge Titanium Watches: A Tech Lover's Dream

Titanium stands out due to its mechanical strength, resistance to corrosion, and remarkable lightweight properties. Way back in 1970, Citizen was the pioneering company to produce and market a titanium timepiece known as the X-8 Chronometer, which has now become highly coveted among collectors.

Fifty-five years later, the brand has expanded upon that heritage with two new 43.2mm Attesas. watch The models come equipped with full Super Titanium, a specialized variant developed by Citizen, which boasts hardness levels at least five times greater than those of traditional stainless steel. These two editions include one finished in silver and another coated with dark gray diamond-like carbon (DLC). They represent the inaugural Attesa series to incorporate a ceramic bezel housing an internal world time indicator.

Equipped with Citizen's own F950 movement, their premium Eco-Drive Satellite Wave GPS system allows for global time adjustments through orbiting satellites within just three seconds. Regardless of satellite updates, these watches maintain accuracy within ±five seconds per month. Additionally, every watch includes Double Direct Flight functionality, enabling wearers to choose the local time from among 27 different time zones in only two steps.

The two variations both showcase textured grey dials equipped with three sub-dials, along with a date display located between the four and five-hour markers. They also include raised index marks that add dimensionality. Both options are paired with a comfortable and sturdy integrated, triple-link, Super Titanium band.

However, there's even more—this 24-hour chronograph can measure events with precision up to 1/20th of a second. The perpetual calendar mechanism adjusts itself automatically at the conclusion of each month and takes into account leap years, so you won’t have to think about resetting it again until February 28, 2100. Additionally, both features offer water resistance up to 100 meters, along with an alarm function ideal for waking up or setting reminders. With its anti-reflective-coated sapphire crystal and luminescent paint applied to the hands, this watch ensures readability under almost any lighting conditions.

Given that the Attesa utilizes Citizen’s light-powered EcoDrive technology, these timepieces will never require a new battery and can operate continuously for up to five years without exposure to any additional lighting (by using savemode). Despite this, the watches include a power reserve display which shows how much ambient light the system is capturing at any moment; however, such data might not frequently prove useful.
